For this project, I had the opportunity to create a cookbook inspired by culinary traditions. I focused on the traditional Mexican dishes I grew up with, showcasing the vibrant flavors of the region and my mom’s homemade cooking. The photographs of Mexico are my own, taken over the years during trips to visit family, reflecting the authentic beauty and spirit of the region. The photos of the dishes, however, were taken at home and captured the rich, comforting essence of my mom’s cooking
The typography was carefully chosen, inspired by my mom’s handwritten recipe book, adding a personal, nostalgic touch to the design. Additionally, the illustrations at the beginning of each chapter were inspired by Indigenous Mexican designs, often seen in traditional clothing, further deepening the cultural connection throughout the project
